6. You will start receiving once a week or twice a week emails from us up until your wedding day. We want to help ease some stress and anxiety off your shoulders. Some of the emails might contain music tips, general wedding tips and tricks, things to avoid, items to remember last minute and many more topics

7. Approx 3 weeks from your wedding date you will receive an email from us asking to schedule a time for your final planning meeting. We try to schedule these around 1 week prior to your wedding as most of the smaller details are finalized by then. We ask that all information and music be entered into the app when we meet. No edits will be allowed after the meeting so we have plenty of time to prepare.

8.Time to Celebrate!!!

What You Can Expect From Us

You’re booked and we’re pumped to be part of your vendor team!  Rest assured, we’re going to help make it an awesome celebration that will be memorable and fun for you and your guests! Thanks for trusting us to be a part of one of the best days of your life!

Here are some things you need to know to make this ride even smoother:

  • How to get a hold of us:  Email and/or text is the best way to reach us to make changes or communicate. Should you misplace our contact information, just reach out at jared@purevisiondj.com or call/text (503) 720-1673 (this is my personal cell so know that I will surely answer your call!). We would ask unless there is an emergency please no calls after 9pm and no text messages after 1030pm our of respect to our families. Thank you.

  • Availability:  Everything with our team can be done via video chat or over the phone but if you want to meet in person, just let us know. Most of our meetings are on weekdays during business hours and some in the evening. Weekend meetings are typically not available due to our event schedule.

  • Emails from us: You will get various emails along the way. Some are reminders to do things like fill out your planners, others are offering an amazing service you may not know you needed, and others are tips/helpful info. We like to stay in touch! One last thing, you will get an email from us AFTER the wedding as well, and we love reviews (hint hint).

  • Sample timeline:  Below you’ll find a link for a Sample Timeline.  Every wedding is different and we will do whatever you’d like. This is simply what we have found works best.

  • Tips: After looking at the sample timeline, read our TIPS FOR PLANNING THE PERFECT PARTY. You’ll thank us later.

  • Meals: You are never required to feed the DJ. We won’t starve but we do have a statement in our contract for events longer than 3 hours as some events get to cover close to half the day and we unfortunately do not get the chance to take a break often. If you do want us to eat, let us be the first to say Thank You for including us. We will do it quickly with the other vendors and out of sight of the guests.

  • Arrival/set-up:  On your wedding day, we typically arrive about 2 to 3 hours before the event.

  • Requirements: As per the contract, we don’t need much-we only ask for enough space for our DJ booth and STRONGLY SUGGEST that you place us next to the dance floor. We would ask that no tables be placed in front of our sound system as we do not want to blow anyones ear drums out including grandma’s. Before finalizing the table layout we kindly ask to review it first for efficiency.

  • Timeline: In terms of your timeline. We have 2 sample timelines below that cover 5 hours (no cocktail hour) from the start of your ceremony until the last dance & a timeline that covers 6 hours (with cocktail hour). What we find is the following: 1. Working with your photographer & videographer is best for a timeline piece prior to the ceremony. 2. Working to develop the best timeline from ceremony or after ceremony til the last dance is best with your DJ as they will be carrying out the time. 3. If you have a wedding coordinator or planner you will want to make sure to receive their input as well for behind the scenes flow as they will be working with all vendors and their services for your day.
  • Gratuities: Tipping is totally up to you! We typically see 10-20% tips if we did an amazing job.

  • The Music: Of course, this is the most important thing to us, heck, we are DJs. If it’s important to you, take some time to work on your online planner on your VIBO App. You can also import your Spotify playlist/s on it. Speaking of, check out some of ours below.

TIPS FOR PLANNING THE PERFECT PARTY
  1. For a wedding, keep in mind that your guests are going to be where the couple are. If you’re on the dance floor, the guests will be too!
  2. Don’t micromanage the timeline. We do need the order of events but not necessarily the exact time for each. You’ve hired a great DJ, now let us do our job.
  3. If there are older guests, try not to sit them close or right in front of the speaker(s).
  4. Don’t put the DJ in an obscure location or corner; the DJ needs to be easily visible and near the dance floor so they can see it to get a feel for the crowd.
  5. If you have dance floor lighting, keep in mind that darker is better. Use dimmers for chandeliers, cafe lighting, etc.
  6. If you have a bar or photo booth at the event, please put it in the main room where the DJ is. You want to keep people near the dance floor at all times.
  7. When picking your songs for your event, take into account not only your taste, but the guests’ as well.
  8. You always want to leave the guests wanting more. It’s not your responsibility to entertain guests until 2am.
  9. When picking your music, you don’t have to overdo it. Pick 20 or so songs you like and a few you don’t, and let us fill in from there.
  10. We typically recommend that toasts are kept to a minimum of 5 minutes per person and a maximum of 4 people.
  11. We also recommend that the first dance is done right after you are introduced, and suggest shortening the parent dances.
  12. If it can fit on your budget, add a Social Booth to your event. The photos are great memento for the wedding
